Utica, New York

Saturday, July 7, 2012 - Sunday, July 8, 2012

Our first trip to the renowned Boilermaker in Utica! We had signed up for this one quite a while back. The one thing I forgot to do was get us hotel reservations a while back in Utica, so instead we stayed in Little Falls at the Knights Inn.

We left on Saturday around noon, putting us in Utica at about 2. We hit the expo at MVCC, tooled around Utica a bit, and then made the 25 minute drive to Little Falls. The Knights Inn was more than an adequate place for us to stay, and one we would look at in the future if need be. We had dinner at Enea's Italian Feast, food was what we were looking for to carb up, one waitress in the place made service a bit slow. After dinner we headed to Veteran's Memorial Park for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs PGCBL game against the Cooperstown Hawkeyes. Back to the hotel for some sleep after the game.

Sunday was Boilermaker day! We were up and out of the hotel and to Utica by just after 6:00. Found a parking spot on the street literally a block from the after party. Grabbed the shuttle bus and went up to the start line. We waited up there for about an hour and fifteen minutes for the start of the race. Good course, lots of support! This race is a keeper! HUGE after party with beer from Saranac, music by Nik and the Nice Guys - a great time for sure!

We stopped at Piggy Pat's for some lunch on our way home - since the Price Chopper folks ran out of food! - then made the rest of the drive to Binghamton, getting back here around 5ish.

Trip Notes:

We stayed at the Knights Inn Little Falls, 20 Albany Street, Little Falls, NY.
