Ahh, a trip home! In what has become our 'traditional' trip south, Jill and I ventured to Disney for a few days to attend both the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, as well as Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom.
The mileage is a bit screwy on this one because this 'trip' actually started when we left Michael's game in Saratoga Springs. On Saturday night, we drove from the Capital Region to Syracuse. Before checking into our hotel, we stopped at Tully's Liverpool to have some dinner. Afterwards, we made our way to the Knights Inn in Liverpool (room 200, 70.17 for the night). This was the second time we bunked at this hotel, an adequate and inexpensive place for us to stay instead of having to drive from Binghamton to Syracuse for an early morning flight.
We flew on JetBlue out of Syracuse direct to Orlando (Flight 41, Seats 16D and 16E). Arriving at good 'ol MCO around 12:20PM, Jill went and grabbed the car while I waited for the luggage. With the car loaded up we were off to 'property'. We parked in our somewhat secret parking place (the Wedding Pavilion!), and then headed to the Magic Kingdom. Lunch was at Casey's before we wandered around the MK for a while. We went to check in to the hotel after that. This trip we would be staying at our old stand by - All Star Sports! We stayed in the Touchdown Hotel, room 247 this trip. Sunday night, we went over to Hollywood Studios and 'did' all of our favorites in this park. Looking for somewhere for dinner, we found that most places were full (dang dining plan!), but we eventually settled on going to 'The Brown Derby'. This would be our first 'something new' to do on this trip. After we finished up at Hollywood Studios, we headed back to Sports! to grab some sleep.
Monday was set aside especially for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. We got there just as the festival was opening up (around 11:00ish) and made our way from one side of the 'world' to the other, starting near Canada, and ending near Mexico. We sampled lots of yummy food from lots of countries! The other 'new' thing we did was have breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe with Aunt Cathy on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, we left MCO around 4:45PM (Flight 44, Seats 14A and 14B), arriving at JFK at 7:30PM. After a layover, we departed JFK at 10:35PM (Flight 22, Seats 14D and 14E), landing in Syracuse at 11:58PM.
