A quick jaunt to Elmira to watch the ECHL Jackals play. We sat in section 105, which was near the corner where the Jackals came onto the ice. There pretty much aren't any 'bad' seats at the First Arena. After the game, we stopped at the Ground Round in Johnson City for dinner before heading home.

Elmira, NY- After an exciting 4-3 overtime victory on Friday evening the Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, skated to a hot start in Saturday nights rematch against the Augusta Lynx. The Jackals jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but the Augusta Lynx answered with five unanswered goals.

The scoring got started with Moises Gutierrez’s third goal of the season at the 14:11 mark of the first. Steve Yetman would assist. With the score holding tight at 1-0 after the first twenty minutes, Jackals forward Steve Yetman would net a goal of his own just 1:41 into the second. Cody Blanshan and Moises Gutierrez would assist on the play. The Jackals would extend the lead to 3-0 at the 8:51 mark on a power play goal from Gutierrez. Pierre-Luc Faubert and Tyler Donati would get credited with assists on the second goal of the game from Gutierrez. (With that assist Donati continues his point streak-12 points in 5 games-ECHL lead).

The Lynx would fire back at the 12:27 mark of the second. A Patrick Bordeleau goal would pull the game within two. Justin Keller would pull the game within one late in the second at the 1:30 mark. The Lynx wouldn’t stop there as they tallied again, just one minute into the third. With the Jackals on the power play Justin Keller would net a breakaway goal to even the score.
