Chicago, Illinois

Friday, October 10, 2014 - Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Another running experience brought us to the Windy City! Our second of three World Marathon Majors in 2014, Jill and I ran the Chicago Marathon! Headed out from Syracuse on Friday. The evening of the 10th we had dinner at the Sit Down Cafe and Sushi Bar, a cool little place Jill had found on a previous trip to Chi-Town. Saturday we toured around Chicago a bit and found ourselves at Ditka's on E. Chestnut (because, ya know, seems like the thing to do there!). Sunday was the race - basically flat course all through the City of Chicago, truly a great race! Ran a bit with our friends Scott Barco and Sandy Hugill too! Post race we found ourselves at Lou Malnati's (best deep dish in the Chicagoland area!). On Monday we did a self-guided brew tour of Chicago, starting at the Haymarket Pub and Brewery, then onto the Goose Island Brewpub, before finishing up at one of the bars in Wrigleyville. Monday night we headed off to the United Center to see the Bulls (and Dougie McBucketts) play. Home on Tuesday morning.
