Brooklyn, New York

Thursday, January 22, 2015 - Saturday, January 24, 2105

So, the original intent with this trip was to run the NYC RUNS Brrrrrroklyn Half Marathon at Prospect Park, but as a winter ice/snow storm moved through the New York City area on Friday night/Saturday morning we ended up with a couple of nice days in one of our favorite cities (on par with Orlando of course ;-) ) but no miles on our feet. Headed down on Thursday where we had lunch at Lilli and Loo in Manhattan. We stayed at hotel le bleu, a schticky boutique hotel near Prospect Park and the Barclays Center. Thursday evening, we wandered around the neighborhood near our hotel. First stop was Pickle Shack (which is closed as of this writing in January 2017). Dinner was at the Bogota Latin Bistro. On Friday, we wandered around Manhattan (with at least a trip to the NBA Store). We had lunch at Keste' Pizza and Vino, which has quickly become our go to place for gluten free pizza in the city - awesome eats! Dinner on Friday was at the Dinosaur BBQ, mostly to see how it rated compared to ours Upstate. The food turned out to be the same, but the atmosphere was more 'hipster' and definitely not what we are used to in Syracuse. Home through the elements on Saturday morning.

Trip Notes:

We stayed at hotel le bleu, 370 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY; We stayed in room #604; total for the stay was $299.15.
